SIR – Bridgepoint Capital, the private equity company with assets of £11.4 billion, who are the owners of Leeds Bradford Airport have a masterplan of improvements, which include a rail connection and a new link road from the A65.
Councillor David Green tells us (T&A, November 9) that a bid for improving transport links to Leeds Bradford Airport will possibly be made against the £23.9m pot now held by the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.
This implies that the aim is to subsidise the cost of connectivity with public money.
The airport being in Leeds, the bid will undoubtedly be approved.
Perhaps Councillor Green could therefore exert his influence to ensure that subsidised connectivity is conditional upon passengers being treated with respect and not ripped off, especially with short-term parking charges.
