SIR – I was intrigued by the article (T&A, October 29) which said that only 1,843 patients had died in the BRI and St Luke’s hospitals instead of the expected 1,950.

Surely these 107 people who are not dead should be found and asked to explain how they escaped the grim reaper – did they get away en masse or one at a time?
