SIR – On Sunday, October 30, my wife was travelling to work up Chat Hill towards Thornton when a car containing two young lads, aged about 19 or 20, appeared behind her and started tooting their horn at her.

She thought they were just messing about, and when she reached the top she pulled over to let them pass. They stopped alongside her and told her she had a flat tyre.

Without more ado they changed the tyre for her, stowed the punctured one away correctly and when offered, refused to take anything for their trouble.

It is refreshing to see such kind behaviour by youths today, and I would just like to thank them for their actions.
