SIR – I would like to thank the Telegraph & Argus for the kind coverage you gave me regarding my recent MBE award. I would also like to thank all the people who sent e-mails and cards with congratulations.
This was a great and unexpected honour and I know that my family were thrilled to take part in my visit to London on October 12.
I do feel that there are lots of volunteers in Bradford and district who are never thanked and recognised for their tremendous work and efforts given freely, and are deserving people.
I feel very humble and would like to say my award is dedicated to them.
I have just purchased a DVD of the ceremony, and if any groups or organisation are interested in seeing this, if they contact BDSP Office, Carlisle Road Business Centre. BD8 8BD, or e-mail seniorpower@hotmail.co.uk details can be given.
For anyone interested, I was given my medal by the Queen and the investiture was at Buckingham Palace and yes, I did see “Sir Bruce”!
Jean Walker MBE, Kentmere, Bradford
