SIR – Although I don’t live in Otley, I am a frequent visitor, and take my two young grandchildren to the Wharfemeadows Park children's play ground near the river. It is extremely popular with children of all ages, and therefore gets very busy.
Unfortunately, it must be the most dangerous play ground, too! It has no fencing around it and is exposed to the road, near Prince Henry’s School and the open park.
Mums with two children playing there must find it very difficult to keep an eye on both of them!
The Ilkley play ground is fully-enclosed, and so is the play area in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate.
Even in small villages, the play grounds are fenced in with strong gates, to keep children from running off, and keeping dogs out!
Something needs to be done before a traffic accident happens!
