SIR - I would like to offer my congratulations to Junior Witter and his family on his winning of the WBC light welterweight title. When I read it in the T&A, I felt proud again to be a Bradfordian.
I feel Junior's achievement should be honoured by the city of Bradford in some way. Perhaps the Richard Dunn sports centre should be renamed after Mr Witter, because here is a man who's actually won a world title, who's from Bradford! He has not come second, or been a runner-up on a TV programme. He's won a world boxing title, which to me speaks of character and deserves some kind of recognition from the city of Bradford.
After all we have sculptures in the city by European "artists" (who I have never heard of) but being from Bradford I have heard of Junior Witter so something similar for Mr Witter seems right.
Congratulations once again to Junior and I really hope he gets to meet Hatton as it will be another war of the roses. Yorkshire and Bradford will win.
