SIR - Muslims, apparently, are "outraged" at some remarks made by the Pope, possibly the most holy, gentle and peaceful person on earth.
Why does it seem to be only Muslims who take such enormous offence and react with such over-the-top wrath and resentment?
If Muslims are allowed to express their views in such a forceful manner, why should we not be allowed the same privilege? For instance, I suggest that the demonstrations of anger and intolerance shown towards the Pope are an enormous insult, not only to him personally, but to the whole Roman Catholic Church.
This is an attack on the Church's very morality. To suggest the Pope had any malice or ill intent towards the Muslim faith is an affront to the Pope's integrity and should be soundly condemned by the Catholic Church.
