SIR – In response to your readers’ letters regarding ‘car parking chaos’ due to ongoing construction works at Grange Technology College. While I fully appreciate that this work must be an advantage to the school, what about the disruption and upset to residents?

Me and my husband are both pensioners and used to have quite a pleasant view when gazing out of our front window.

Now, cars are parked outside from 7.15am to sometimes 5.30pm at night. That’s nearly ten hours a day, not just school hours from 9am to 3pm, and these are teachers, not pupils, who are parking here.

When we have asked politely if they could park elsewhere, some have agreed with no problems, but we have also been confronted with verbal abuse.
