SIR - Although winter is just around the corner, at Marie Curie Cancer Care our thoughts are already turning to spring and its annual Great Daffodil Appeal. Every year from our Bradford office we distribute more than 1,000 boxes to post offices, hairdressers, pubs and offices, and each box has the potential to raise £50.
To make these boxes reach their potential income we find the best way is that all our outreach sites have that personal touch, by being hand delivered. In Bradford we are looking for individuals who can deliver approximately ten boxes each. We will provide the sites, the boxes of daffodils and information.
It is a simple but effective way of raising funds for the charity, and the money raised in Bradford supports our hospice in Maudsley Street and our Marie Curie nurses, caring and supporting cancer patients and their families in their own homes.
This invaluable service is free of charge and any support which can be given by your readers will be greatly appreciated by the charity and the patients it cares for.
