SIR – I had the pleasure recently to join the Lord Mayor at the Midland Hotel’s celebrations for Older People’s Day.
Fifty elderly people from residential homes and sheltered housing, and their carers, were invited to the hotel for afternoon tea.
The hotel was, as always, extremely welcoming and the guests were treated to an array of sandwiches, cream scones and a selection of cakes.
A lady from Seniors Show The Way entertained the guests with a musical reminiscence session which led to a sing-along.
It was an absolute joy to be involved. I would like to publicly thank the Midland Hotel for all their support as the room, the service and the food were kindly donated.
Thank you Gary, Kate and their magnificent team!
