SIR – So, Councillor John Cole (Lib Dem, Baildon) was happy to sanction the building of 440 houses in Micklethwaite, despite the obvious infrastructure problems, and the massive local opposition (T&A, September 24).

Indeed, this does not appear to bode well for his Baildon constituents when one considers that Bradford Council’s plan to build over 45,000 new houses in the area includes 550 in Baildon. The village is already heavily built-upon, and the infrastructure cannot cope at the moment, either in connection with the local road network or local parking issues.

Perhaps they will be suggesting concreting over Baildon Moor to solve the conundrum?
