SIR - I wholeheartedly agree with Bradford Council leader Kris Hopkins, right, and his stance with Bradford's taxi drivers.
A sizeable proportion seem to use a different Highway Code to the rest of us.
Red lights, right-hand turn only lanes, speed limited, no U-turns all seem to mean something different to some taxi drivers in this town.
A clampdown is long overdue!
I stopped using hackney carriages some years back due to the cleanliness and standard of dress (or lack of) of many of the drivers. I shudder to think what visitors' first impressions would be on visiting Bradford.
I only use private hire in emergencies after a couple of incidents' whereby it's not worth taking the risk with my health and safety.
I would proposes a three strikes and your licence is revoked' policy and the decent law-abiding taxi drivers could distance themselves from the problematic drivers and have their profile raised overall.
After all, they are public servants and the public's safety is first and foremost.
