SIR - The three main political parties' response to those who wish to save the Odeon has been that their members sit on the particular committee which will make the final decision.

This may be the case, but that shouldn't preclude other councillors not on the committee from standing up and being counted on this matter.

Without wishing to go too deeply into this, I suspect there is a link between councillors who listen to their electorate and act accordingly and then receive their reward' in terms of votes.

Those councillors who decide they know what's best for us mere voters may well wonder why their votes go to other parties next May.

Yes, a week may be a long time in politics, but some Bradfordians have long memories, too.
