SIR – Mr David Rhodes should find out the facts before casting aspersions on the common sense of another of your readers (Letters, May 23).
For his information, I have a Council-bought litter picker which is what I use for litter picking and would not dream of ruining my lovely, yellow plastic gloves by picking up rubbish with them!
As for the patronising suggestion at the end of his letter that I should leave well alone – what a miserable world that would be if we all did that.
Incidentally, the area where I live is not noted for discarded syringes.
