SIR – When I go to Cineworld at the Leisure Exchange I get free parking. When I park in the Kirkgate Centre it’s pay on exit, so I get charged for however long I stay.
It ought not to be beyond the skill of someone at the Media Museum and/or Bradford Council and/or National Car Parks to either provide free parking for cinema-goers or a pay-on-exit scheme.
The same goes, incidentally, for anyone visiting the central library. You used to be able to get a ticket from the reception desk to put on your dashboard providing free parking if you were visiting the library, but I think this system has been discontinued.
I am in favour of people being encouraged not to park on the public thoroughfares, but those civic-minded enough to use the car parks shouldn’t be penalised in this way.
