SIR – I noticed from the recent article (T&A, May 21) that they are considering restarting the Westfield site and replacing the many closed-down shops which will, according to experts, bring people back into Bradford.
May I suggest that these experts consider replacing the old post offices which were in Bradford city centre for many years.
I used the one in Bank Street regularly, along with many other people. We then wandered around Bradford looking into the shops and cafes, spending our cash and helping the economy in the city.
The main post office is quite a long walk from the centre and up a steep hill, too far for many of us pensioners who used to collect our pensions and pay bills at the old post office, along with many others who found it a handy and friendly place to call when in the centre.
I truly hope that this matter will be considered and that we will once again have a general post office close enough to the bus depot for us all to walk to, use their services, and have a chat there.
