SIR – Lib Dem group leader Coun Jeanette Sunderland states it is outrageous that the vote for the Bradford Council leadership is not on the agenda (T&A, May 14) at tonight’s authority AGM.
In essence, I agree with her, especially when the Bradford authority remains in a no-overall-control situation.
However, I see a touch of irony in her demand; does she kick up a fuss to force such a vote in order for the Lib Dem group to abstain as they did last year, when they chose not to support any political party, leaving the largest group Labour to take control of the Executive?
An obvious analogy would be with the redundant Liverpool car plant workers of the previous century who demanded their jobs back so they could go on strike.
