SIR – Labour’s lack of financial sense has led to the severity of the country’s mess. I did think that locally they had a bit more integrity, but this has been shaken.
Mr Bonallie (Letters, April 21), pens some half-truths and falsely-based aspersions. He is correct that Wrose already has a mobile library to provide facilities at some distance from the existing library for the less-able. Is he suggesting that people from the Shipley end walk a two-to-three mile round trip to the existing mobile service? We’d rather see replacement facilities a little closer.
Mr Bonallie also says that if Coun Watmough was against closure of libraries, he should have voted against the budget or abstained. There we have it from the horse’s mouth: Labour councillor Vanda Greenwood wanted the closure of Wrose library and voted for that. People in glass houses...
