SIR – To the great displeasure of D Rhodes (Letters, May 11) a reader, rightly, complained about a delay in receiving a letter, instead of congratulating the posties, who, incidentally, are only a part of the Royal Mail organisation and in no way responsible for delays.
I feel sure the said reader was not blaming the postie, but the organisation as a whole, and I also feel sure Mr Rhodes himself will have adversely criticised it.
As to his idea that we should do as he does – write every single day to the T&A – I will just ask if he wrote a letter praising a child diligently going to school every day and then one about the minority, who fail to attend and cause their parents legal proceedings, which of the two letters would most likely be published?
Dog bites man – no interest; man bites dog – very newsworthy, Mr Rhodes.
