SIR – I read, with interest, the letter from D Rhodes. (‘Profits are greedy’, T&A, May 10). Yet another person who thinks people are trying to rip customers off.
When you go out and have a cup of tea, Mr Rhodes, could you please tell me who makes it for you?
Who pays for the electricity to make your tea? Who pays for the rent and rates? Who pays for the person who washes up?
Who cleans the area where you sit? And you might want to use the loo and wash your hands in hot water. Who pays for this?
You must really like sitting at home and getting all this treatment for free. Good luck to you.
George Watmough, Carr Lane, Shipley
