SIR – Queens Park Rangers have been promoted to the Premiership. Their stadium at Loftus Road has a capacity of 19,100.
Bradford City, who survived in the Football League with only one game remaining, have a superior stadium with a capacity of 25,136.
I stood at Odsal in Super League IX in 1999 in what was a Super League record attendance of over 23,000 against Leeds Rhinos.
The latest plans that were put forward were for a redeveloped Odsal with a capacity of 18,000 to share with Bradford City.
Obviously, the new Odsal could not have hosted a record attendance, where as a highly-developed stadium at Valley Parade – which looks superb in the book Football Grounds From The Air by Myriad of London – could well do so with room to spare. What plans make sense?
Probably the stadium centrally located for all parts of the Bradford Metropolitan District which already stands tall, if a deal can be done with Gordon Gibb.
