SIR – It seems churlish for G Rhodes to complain that a letter had taken six days to reach his address in Baildon from Bingley (T&A, April 28), when, like most of us, he will regularly have received correspondence that had only taken a day. I’ll wager it never crossed his mind to pen a word of praise to the T&A on those occasions. Our diligent posties are trying their utmost to stave off privatisation and redundancies and can well do without adverse comment.

If you haven’t got anything good to say, then say nothing.
