SIR – Labour in Windhill and Wrose appear to think that if you repeat a tale often enough people, will begin to believe it is true (Letters, April 19).
They accuse Councillor John Watmough of voting to close Wrose Library, as part of the overall Council budget, and then campaigning to keep it open.
John is campaigning to keep library facilities in Wrose and has asked the residents what solution they would favour.
This could be a mobile service or incorporating the library into other premises that might be staffed by volunteers or operated as a self-service facility. Such solutions have been used in other parts of the country.
Remember that all Labour councillors voted for the budget – and that included the closure of Wrose Library and four others. To the best of my knowledge, Labour isn’t even trying to keep some library facilities in Wrose This issue is one of the consequences of the Labour Government just about bankrupting the country and now leaving others to sort out that mess.
