SIR – To the ‘Jobsworth’ bus driver who charged me adult fare on the 11.23 (late as is pretty usual) 626 bus from Shipley to Baildon on March 27 for my 12-year-old grandson, I hope he feels pleased with himself.
I use public transport on a regular basis but do not often take my grandchildren with me.
We had been to visit my mother, their great-grandmother in Heaton, and caught the 629 bus into Shipley and paid half-fare, which was accepted.
On the previous occasions my grandchildren have been with on public transport, I have never been told that over the age of ten, they need to produce a half-fare pass.
Given all the notices that we regularly read on public transport, surely it could be advertised that children over ten need to be in possession of one?
I can only say that until today’s experience I have never had any cause to complain about the service received from Bradford Metro (First Bus) Jackie Peel, St Eloi Avenue, Baildon
