SIR – I have discovered an unhelpful practice at Bradford Interchange.
Firstly, the free bus shares the same stand as the X6 bus to Leeds. However, twice I have been unable to board it as the driver has driven off!
This happens if the X6 bus is parked at the relevant stop. The length of the X6 bus prevents the free bus from reaching the door to the Interchange.
Instead of waiting, the driver simply parks behind it, lets everybody off, then drives on! I saw the bus today arrive behind the X6 bus, which was slightly late.
I observed a mass of people coming off the bus and entering the Interchange, preventing me from going outside. (The door further on was sealed off.) By the time I got outside, the free bus was nowhere to be seen! I ended up walking all the way up town instead.
This ruins what is otherwise a superb service. If only the free bus had its own dedicated stand.
