Sir – In reply to the letter by Councillor John Cole (T&A, April 7), if Councillor Watmough was against the closure of the libraries, or against any part of the Council budget, he should have done what his conscience said and either voted against or abstained.
Both Coun Cole (pictured) and Coun Watmough state he is trying to set up a replacement service in Wrose, Coun Watmough even says it could be a mobile library.
If the councillor took notice of what goes on in his ward, he would know that we already have a mobile library service in Wrose.
Coun Cole tells me that I should declare my political leanings when writing a letter to the Telegraph & Argus. To me this seems an unusual request. He seems to assume I am a member of the Labour Party, however I can tell him that I am not.
Perhaps Coun Cole, as a Lib Dem, should similarly declare his political leanings in letters to the T&A in future.
We all thought Lib Dems were Lib Dems until we found out they were much more comfortable being part of a Conservative Government!
