SIR – Have we no backbone in this country any longer?
The Prime Minister tells us that his financial cuts will affect everyone. We all know that this is not true, but certain individuals could, and should, make sure the PM also feels the effects.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner should tell the PM that with the cuts in police numbers, he is forced to remove the policeman from outside No 10. There will also be no police escort or protection for visiting heads of state in the future.
Westminster Council should tell Parliament that due to cutbacks, the rubbish will be collected from the House of Commons less regularly, so smells and rat infestation may ensue.
Finally, the Ministry of Defence should tell the Prime Minister that due to severe financial restraints, they will be bringing all our troops back from Afghanistan with immediate effect, and we will no longer be able to support NATO in their problems with Libya.
Come on. Show some spirit. Let Cameron know how it feels to have the rug pulled from under his feet.
