SIR – We have all seen the appalling images of rioting in the centre of London, the rent-a-mob and thugs-r-us faction hijacking what was basically a peaceful march highlighting strong feeling of the country against unfair and unjust government cutbacks.
It is my belief that David Cameron is an honourable man and that he is trying to do what is right for the country. Unfortunately, though, he is being ill-advised by an inept cabinet. Trying to get this country on its feet by attacking the poor, the weak and the sick cannot and will not work.
We are all aware to whom we owe this state of affairs – yes, the banking fraternity. It is they who took your money and threw it around like confetti.
Rather than hanging their heads in shame they are back at it, rubbing the country’s nose in it, patting themselves on the back and awarding themselves multi-million pound bonuses.
The citizens of this country are well aware of where the fault lies and rather like the Merchant of Venice, they demand their pound of flesh.
