SIR – I am very fond of Bradford. I have lived here all my life and I’m loyal to the city.
I can’t help but notice how quickly our city centre is deteriorating. It’s really sad to see how many empty shops there are, and it noticeably seems to get worse before it gets better.
Why is Bradford Council not bringing businesses in rather than pushing them out? The Wharf (pictured) is a recent example of another closure due to the deterioration of our city centre – another reason for some people not to come to Bradford to shop.
Will we ever see the Broadway development? I really do hope so, but I very much doubt it.
Is it not time to scrap the Westfield shopping centre, and why not extend the popular Forster Square units into that area and hopefully bring in other businesses similar to what is currently at Birstall, for example?
There are lots of loyal Bradford citizens, and all we want are the same shops and restaurants that other towns and cities have.
Can the Council please act now and save this city before loyal people like myself stop shopping here. It will soon be far too late.
