SIR – The users of Bingley baths have rightly complained at the lack of consultation or notice given in connection with the reduction of hours that has been implemented.
In response, Phil Barker, Bradford’s Council’s assistant director for sport and leisure services, said (T&A, April 4) that the lack of notice was due to the difficulty involved in working out the changes, which could not be published until the details had been scrutinised.
No mention whatsoever here of customer service, which should surely have meant that at least four weeks’ notice was given once the intention had become clear.
That lack of proper consultation with its customers and ratepayers appears to be endemic within Bradford Council, as we have seen previously on so many occasions on sundry other issues.
It has been said before, but we really are not being as well served as we should be.
