SIR – Baroness Warsi has made out that prejudice is fuelling intolerance and misunderstanding in respect of Islamophobia, and to use her term, “It has passed the dinner table test”. This is followed on in principle by: “It is the British people who are at fault”.
I would respectfully suggest that Baroness Warsi takes a step back, and looks at this subject again. Contrary to what some people would like us to believe, the British are an extremely tolerant race, so if there is any intolerance, she might do well to look for the reason why.
I would like at this juncture to suggest where she might start her quest. The question of wanting to bring Sharia law into this country is abominable to most people. There is also the question of the Muslim radicals who denigrate us, while still taking the advantage of being in Britain.
These are problems for the Muslim community to solve, I don’t want to be involved in any way, but if they wish to be accepted as a normal part of British society, then they must take the steps required for proper integration.
