SIR – It appears that Bradford Council leader, Ian Greenwood, is happy to defy the Government’s ruling that local councils must, by the end of January, publish details on-line of all expenditures which exceed £500 (T&A, January 24).
Taking up this key message from our leader, I shall now feel quite free to smoke in pubs, restaurants or any other enclosed public space, content in the knowledge that the same Council’s enforcement officers will follow their leader’s line and enthusiastically condone my newly-adopted approach to rule adherence.
Or is it one rule for us and a different rule for them? I think we all know the answer to that one.
