SIR – In life we all at one time or another have troubles and we cannot help but feel sorry for ourselves. Most of our troubles are probably insignificant compared with those suffered by Mrs Wallace (T&A, January 15) and her family.
I remember when she lost her first son who committed suicide in September last year, the courage she showed when she said, at the time: “Please, if anyone has worries or thinks that life is bad and impossible to go on, just talk to someone, anyone, don’t break your family’s and friends’ hearts.”
She has now suffered a second loss so soon after the first, and this is truly tragic.
Surely anyone who has read the story cannot fail to be moved by this horrific turn of events.
I am sure her family will do their best to support her, and she deserves all the support she can be given.
I do not really know what else to say, but when we feel sorry for ourselves let us remember Mrs Wallace and her almost unbearable grief, which we cannot even begin to imagine.
