SIR – A thriving Bradford pub to be knocked down for a car park (T&A, January 14). Bradford Area Planning Panel found “its hands were tied” – by who?
KPMG, the receivers, have reportedly not replied to at least one offer to buy the Winston Churchill, nor have they replied to the panel. How arrogant, how ignorant.
These people (KPMG) don’t reply because if you don’t reply the opposition cannot find holes in your statement.
There has got to be a legal way to combat this disgusting behaviour.
I am a non-drinker but if the customers of the Winston Churchill get a petition going, I will collect some signatures.
The cartoon in the T&A (January 14) had it right in essence. Hitler couldn’t do it but Bradford Planning can. I wonder what Sir Winston would have said?
Perhaps, “Never in the history of the bastions of the British pub were so many betrayed by so few.”
