Sir – They say that this week is the one when New Year resolutions are most likely to be broken.
Can I suggest that any gentlemen readers who might resolve to do something new this year consider joining a choir?
The Glen Singers is a choir of ladies and gentlemen who rehearse every Thursday evening between 7.45pm and 9.45pm at Thackley Methodist Church, Thackley.
It was started in 1984. and its motto “Singing For Pleasure” reflects the importance of having fun while singing from a wide-ranging musical repertoire, from classical to pop, from songs from the shows to traditional choral music.
We are holding an open rehearsal today (January 20) and invite any men who might be interested to come along. Don’t worry if you don’t read music – an ability to sing in tune, combined with enthusiasm and a sense of fun, are much more important!
Go on fellas, give it a try!
Tony Hamilton, Musical Director, The Glen Singers, Main Street, Cononley
