SIR – A new year and I suppose it may end up like last year, with people moaning about the cost of taxi’s over the festive time, the lack of buses etc.
One thing that did annoy me is a letter from Richard Mountford, Development Manager, for Animal Aid (T&A, December 22) entitled ‘A seasonal sacrifice’.
People know how Turkey’s are farmed today and what other animals go through. The thing is, if people want a turkey they will buy one. If it is plucked and frozen it will do. How it got there frozen or fresh, what the bird actually went through doesn’t matter.
If you want to eat meat then you do so, they don’t moan to animal right campaigners or vegetarians, they just enjoy their chosen activity.
If you are a vegetarian or an animal lover, just leave us meat eaters alone as we will never change, no matter what you say.
