SIR – If this country had been run properly, every pensioner who’d worked would be on at least £200 per week, there’d be low cost accommodation and an excellent infrastructure.
Instead, politicians have been waylaid into issues like “diversity” and “equality”. There’s never been equality and never will be.
If every citizen were given £20,000, after one year some would have nothing and some would have doubled it!
It’s about using money sensibly and many politicians have not used ours sensibly.
Over 700 hours were spent in Parliament debating fox hunting; imagine the cost of that!
In my opinion, some, such as Harriet Harman, haven’t a clue about industry or economics and probably couldn’t even run a corner shop to make a profit.
As robot politicians, they find a niche and put themselves forward as champions of something like “equality” – it sounds good, doesn’t it?
She advocated “all-women shortlists” for prospective MPs, but this was forgotten when her husband applied and won a Birmingham seat. Equality? Humbug.
