SIR – With regards to Hanson School (T&A, December 16) being in special measures.
I have two children at the school and last week received a letter regarding my daughter, praising her for excelling and being an excellent student.
She achieved the highest attitudinal grade possible.
I am very proud to say she is a pupil of Hanson School. I also was a pupil at the school.
It is a shame a small percentage of students is ruining it for those who want a decent education and want bright futures with good careers.
Why don’t we praise the high percentage doing well, achieving good grades, wanting to learn and wanting to be there?
I agree with Robert Bennett; children do need to be more respectful to teachers and to their peers who want to learn.
Please don’t brand the students of Hanson as all bad. A very high is percentage is good.
I am positive the leaders of the school and the students will make this a fantastic and successful school with the right support.
Also it is a shame Tim Brookes resigned because of this. He was so proud of Hanson students and what they achieve.
