SIR – We are told there is to be more snow and ice, and the media tells us we can expect chaotic conditions yet again. Bradford Metropolitan Council have been told we must make savings of £67 million, and this could mean loss of jobs and services. But in spite of this, I feel in quite high spirits – so why is this?
I have just returned home from the Bradford West Rotary Club Annual Christmas Concert held at Clayton Parish Church. It featured the award-winning Clayton C of E School choir, conducted by Rowan Russell and accompanied by Paul Iredale, and what a delight it was to all present.
The X Factor it wasn’t, but, in my opinion, something far better. And as Bruce Forsyth would say, “You’re my favourites.”
Paul and Rowan must have been proud of the choir. Rowan delighted us with her own solo spots and John Marshall was a very accomplished compere.
Young Richard Hilton, who played the organ, showed talent and skill that will surely take him far.
All in all, it was a night to remember.
