SIR – We would like your readers to help us beat heart disease, one laugh at a time.
According to our survey, 62 per cent of UK women believe it that breast cancer is the biggest killer of UK women. But the reality is that heart disease kills three times more women than breast cancer.
We at the British Heart Foundation are running a campaign to challenge these statistics and quite literally put the heart centre stage for women.
We’ve got together with Victoria Wood and more of the UK’s best loved comedians to host the Angina Monologues, a night of fantastic comedy focused on affairs of the heart.
The great news is that the show is being taken from the stage to the screen, and women can watch the Angina Monologues on Sky1 at 9:30pm on Tuesday and again on Christmas Day.
With everything from failed chat-up lines to dodgy diets, Victoria and the likes of Jo Brand, Katy Brand, Julia Davis, Jessica Hynes are sure have sitting rooms in the area filled with hearty laughter.
So make a date with all the women in your life, and get ready for a great night’s entertainment. If you can’t wait until the 21st, visit anginamonologues.co.uk for some titbits from the show and important information on how to cherish your heart.
