SIR – Once again we read about the possible rail link-up in the T&A. It’s a brilliant idea but we all know none of this will ever happen.
It’s all right for someone to come up with the idea of a viaduct across the city centre, but how do they come up with the costs of £100 million? And it’s all right for a Government minister to say it is a good idea, okay, then get on with it.
Also, why are there five stations northwards to Keighley and not a single one to Halifax? MPs of all parties, please answer this question.
When Beeching closed stations in the 1960s was there no-one to tell him that there was an industrial area in South Bradford at the time, with workers having to use buses as many didn’t have cars then?
Come on, MPs, stop talking about it and get on with it. We ‘southerners’ should get together and consult the European Court of Human Rights, sue the Government and Bradford Council for torturing us all!
