Beatrice Mitchell, who celebrated her 100th birthday last week
SIR – Many thanks for printing the photo of Miss Beatrice Mitchell (T&A, July 24) to mark her 104th birthday. It has not gone un-noticed, the larger photo was not to be missed.
My family has had the T&A since the 1920s when the ‘paper man’ came round the streets shouting “Telegraph and Argus” and then the ‘Pink’ on Saturday evenings.
Nowadays it’s delivered, and has been for over 60 years.
