SIR – I am wondering why money has been wasted on a new crossing at the top of Prune Park Lane in Allerton, which will benefit so few people?

I rang the Council and the spokesperson for the relevant department said they had been willing to put a much-needed one further down the road closer to Rosedale Avenue and the very busy shops, but the committee had turned that down. The situation is to be reviewed next year.

It was suggested we lobby our councillors on this matter.
