SIR – I whole heartedly concur with Mr Schofield’s comments re Councillor Rizwan Malik (Letters, July 22).
This councillor was selected to represent Heaton by the Heaton ward Labour Party.
It would be enlightening if they could explain why they thinks so little of the Heaton residents to assume that they will be content to trust an elected member with a criminal record representing them in City Hall.
My view is that Coun Malik should consider his position and resign, and that the Leader of the Labour Party in Bradford, Coun Ian Greenwood, should pave the way for someone with ‘old fashioned scruples’.
Elizabeth Hellmich, Parkside Grove, Heaton
