SIR – Claims the cost of the through rail-link in Bradford would be too expensive (T&A, July 26) are ridiculous when you compare it to the cost of the Olympic stadium and village, which comes to billions.
That it will only be in use for four weeks means it pales into insignificance when you look at what a cross-city link would mean.
The story quoted an increase from the £30 million it would have cost in 1989 to £100 million it would cost now.
What about using all the stone from the now defunct bridges that are out of use? This could help to reduce the cost.
The benefit of this rail-link will outweigh the cost.
