SIR – After a good day, I came home to read in Saturday’s T&A that Sainsbury’s has bought B&Bs carbuncle. I was horrified and I am sure I am not alone.

Bingley people campaigned for years for a bypass, as Bingley used to be one big traffic jam. It was built at whatever cost, all for nothing if this is allowed to go ahead.

Now some brainless person or people ‘who don’t live here’ are going to allow a supermarket in the middle of town, with all the traffic and large lorries that will bring. Back to square one.
