SIR – Before Yorkshire Forward finally bows out, I would like to see it made to replace the gutterings, drainpipes and canopies removed from the former Odeon building and to remove the ensuing mess of grass, weeds and algae this act created.
Then it should do the honourable thing, fall on its sword and hand the building back to the people of Bradford who care.
This city has plenty of empty, prestige office space, unoccupied for years, apartments and more than enough hotel space.
What Bradford does not have is an exhibition hall large enough to attract London exhibitions.
May I suggest if Bradford does indeed need more office accommodation, apartments and hotel space, then look to the Conditioning House – yet another of our city’s beautiful stone buildings, ideally situated and currently falling into decay – which could suit this purpose admirably.
