SIR – Re the report (T&A, July 17) about the money owed by absent parents. MP Philip Davies blames feckless parent for withholding more than £32 million from children in the Bradford area.

But surely the real blame must be with the Child Support Agency for not doing its job?

Then we get the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission – whatever they do only God knows – and the CSA’s flawed IT system, despite the £107m upgrade not that long ago.

But Mr Davies, the Tories set up the CSA and were told it would not work. Maybe Mr Davies would like to get pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith to come to Bradford for a chat about how useless the Child Support Agency is – or should that be the Shambles Agency?
