SIR – I am still a member of Friends of Lister Park (FLiP) after resigning from the committee.

Councillor Qasim Khan states (T&A, July 3) the three committee members who resigned “stormed out”.

We did not storm out, but felt forced to resign due to distruptions during meetings – as all the minutes show from August 2009.

As for Coun Khan saying “decisions have been made without everyone’s agreement”, this is incorrect.

I consulted with about four other members of the committee when I was chairman. Coun Khan and the treasurer were not the only members.

Coun Khan says he “hopes to get the members data from the secretary”.

Three of us resigned, and the then-secretary was one of them. As of June 26, FLiP does not have a secretary.

Neither I nor the former secretary have any membership details. They are on the FLiP computer in the FLiP office where they have always been.

Finally, I remind the remaining two officers that the FLiP committee is operating illegally, as it needs at least five members and currently only has two.

I look forward to the AGM they are required to call to elect a new committee or dissolve FLiP.
