SIR – Your recent report on the Odeon (T&A,July 5) begins by saying that a Bradford MP is calling for a rethink on the building amid uncertainty over its future ownership.
Well, I’m sure Bradfordians think differently, responding by saying the Odeon and its heritage belongs to the citizens of Bradford and district and to no-one else.
It is not to be sold or demolished without the people’s consent. To pull it down would be an act of criminality.
If we cannot look after our heritage, what would the future generations think of us?
We should be proud of what we have inherited and look after it with pride. You can tell when a place is loved with the pride people have in the place they live and how they look after their heritage.
Yorkshire Forward wants to spend people’s hard earned money on cladding the Odeon, then more money decladding it later.
They throw money around like confetti, it’s so easy to give someone else’s money away.
